Ed Brown Song : LIVE FREE OR DIE




Live Free or Die The people of New Hampshire have a motto they live by Folks out there say "In this state we live free or die." Now, in the "Granite State" there lives an iron willed man His name is Ed Brown and he's trying to take a stand For ten years he's refused to pay his income tax He said:"There's no law states I gotta pay, and that's that." He asked the IRS to show him a single law That says he has to pay But they didn't cuz they can't Cuz there's no such law He's still waiting for an answer to this day Instead of an answer The Feds sent out a sniper And a couple dozen agents, it's true Decked out in flak jackets With state troopers and marshalls And they were all packin' too They raided Ed's offices and downloaded computers They said "You're being charged with tax fraud, mister, for using money orders to pay off your mortgage." Ed said "I used legal money orders and I told you why." A Postal Officer there said "Yes, but the problem is Ed, you stopped buying." "Of course I stopped buying, my mortgage is paid in full. Now would you gents kindly take your guns and go?" Shortly after that Ed was entrapped, arrested, and abused His wife Elaine Was charged with tax crimes again And she was arrested too The couple asked again "Could you show us one law that says we have to pay? If you do we have the cash in Esgrow and we'll gladly pay you the next day." The answer never came.... Now, Ed's gone home to live He's walked out of their kangaroo court Cuz he was denied the right to bring forth Witnesses to help him prove his point No he's not 'Holed up" His house ain't a "Compound" "Holed up" and "Compound" Are words the Feds use before they gun a man down Well, Samuel Adams had a seaside party back in 1773 He told some men gathered round to empty out the British ships And turned the Boston Harbor water to tea No he wouldn't "crouch down on his knees and lick the hand that feeds" He wouldn't stand for "tranquil servitude" he "chose the contest for liberty" Yeah, Patrick Henry gave a rousing speech back in 1775 The Red Coats were moving in and he was trying to raise an army To fight for the American side By the time he'd finished speaking he had them all cheering "To Arms.!" "To Arms!" they cried He said "Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it Almighty God! (Forbid it Almighty God!) I know not what course others may take, but as for me give me liberty or give me death!" Yeah, General John Stark fought at Bunker Hill Trenton, Princeton, Bennington, and beyond In 1809, aged 81, and too weak to travel, he sent a letter on To his veteran comrades who were gathering to remember The Bennington campaign His friends from the war raised their cups and cheered As they read this sweet refrain Stark wrote: "Live free or die. Death is not the worst of evils." In 1945 his words became the motto of New Hampshire's beloved people Now Ed's at home talking on the phone Giving interviews to local and national news Trying to get enough attention to cause an intervention And stop the Feds from coming to take him in "If they come in here with guns" he said "I'll defend myself until the end." I'm an honorable man I've never lied And neither has my loving wife. I'm a man of the creator. I'm no one's slave. I was born a free man and free I'll stay Is Ed Brown the leader of the next American Revolution? Will the people stand up against a government that Ignores their constitution? Will Americans stop paying income tax Cuz it makes elitists rich and breaks the people's backs? Will the people shun debt and servitude? Will they stand up and make Ed's dream come true? Time will tell, let's hope all ends well There doesn't have to be a violent end Let's hope the stand off goes on and on And the Feds don't force Ed's hand The people of New Hampshire have a motto they live by Folks out there say "In this state we live free or die." One question I'll put to you before I'm through Why should a man be forced to choose between the two? Live free or die.
